Perfect Home Pizza with the GE Monogram Pizza Oven

Are you a human who really likes pizza? And by really, I mean you eat pizza more than three times a week? Are you the type who finds the best pizza joint in any city and then refuses to tell your friends about it for fear the word will get out and suddenly your favorite little pizza joint, the one that makes absolute perfect slices of melt-in-your-mouth pie, will suddenly become GASP popular? Have you had this weird fantasy about owning one of those $25,000 ceramic ovens from Italy, the ones that can reach internal temperatures of 1200 degrees and cook your pizza in like 45 seconds?

You can probably see we've thought way too much about this. But the truth is that it's hard to create the perfect pizza at home. You want that crispy, near-burnt crust, but you want some of the dough to remain a little chewy, and frankly that's hard to replicate unless you have a dedicated pizza oven. And dedicated pizza ovens are often big and bulky and cost a fortune in shipping and overheat your house.

But, look at this. If you are a pizza-head, then this new pizza oven from General Electric's Monogram line of home appliances might be a thing you'd like to have. It will still cost you $10,000 or thereabouts, but that's far cheaper than importing a giant ceramic oven from Italy, right? This oven fits in a normal wall cavity and uses interior ventilation, so you don't have to hire a construction company that will look at you as you shamefully try to explain why you need a dedicated oven just for pizzas. And this oven looks like every other oven, so it will fit right in with the rest of your kitchen. Most likely, anyway.

The oven takes a bit to pre-heat to searing hot temps, but once it's ready, it will cook your pizza to perfection in under two minutes. And like everything else these days, it works with a smart phone app, so you can monitor your latest doughy creation without ever stepping foot in the kitchen.

What do you think?
