Turn Any Surface into a Standing Desk with The Elevate

Let's face it: sitting at home playing online poker for ten hours a day isn't the healthiest thing in the world. Even if you have a comfortable and supportive chair, you're still shaving time off your life by sitting down all day long.

In recent years, there has been a movement towards standing desks. I made the switch about a year ago, though not full time; I stand for roughly three hours each day, and sit at my desk for the rest. Still, those three hours of standing have almost instantly made me healthier, and I'm racking up more steps on my Fitbit than I ever did when I sat at my desk all day long.

If you're intrigued by the idea of a standing desk, but don't want to jump right in and pay the money for a fancy standing-exclusive desk without at least trying it out first, the Elevate Portable Standing Desk might be up your alley.

Made of birch ply and assembled with zero tools, the Elevate turns any flat surface into a standing desk. You simply place it on your existing desk, put your keyboard on the middle surface and your laptop (or other display) on top. Just like that, you've gone from sitting and stagnating all day to standing and revitalizing your body.

The Elevate is currently on a Kickstarter, but you can grab one for $115.
